# openin.app > openin.app makes links that open in the real app instead of an in-app browser. Paste a YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or X link, get a short openin.app link back, and when someone taps it inside Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp or TikTok, the YouTube app (or Spotify, etc.) opens directly — logged in, with the subscribe and follow buttons working. It is free with unlimited links and no per-click charges. Made for creators, podcasters and musicians who share links in bios, stories and captions. ## What problem it solves When a link is tapped inside a social app, that app opens it in its own built-in browser. The viewer is not logged in there, the page is slow, and the subscribe, follow, like and save buttons either fail or ask for a login. Most people give up. A plain youtube.com or open.spotify.com link cannot escape this on its own. An openin.app link detects the phone and the app the tap came from and hands the viewer straight to the installed app (YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X). If the app is not installed, it falls back to the normal web page. When a creator connects it, an assistant can act on that creator's account the way the creator can from the dashboard: "make a link for my new video and put it at the top of my page", "switch my page to the Midnight theme and add my TikTok", "claim @myname" — and answer questions from the creator's own data: "which of my links got the most clicks this week?", "where is my traffic coming from?", "what's on my page?". Eleven tools: six read, five write. There is no delete tool — a link can be taken off the page, but deleting one for good is done in the dashboard. Changing a slug or changing the handle breaks an address people may already have, so an assistant should only do those when the creator asked for exactly that. How a creator connects it: - Claude (claude.ai or the Claude app): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste https://www.openin.app/mcp → sign in with the openin.app account (Google or the email sign-in link) and approve. - ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors (developer mode) → add the same URL and sign in the same way. - Any other MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth 2.1 works the same way; no API key is involved. - To disconnect: openin.app → Account → Integrations, where every connected app is listed and can be revoked. Returns the existing link rather than a duplicate when one already points at that destination. - Update a link: its title, whether it is on the bio page, or (Pro) its custom slug. Destinations never change — make a new link instead. - Set the links on my bio page: the ordered list, top to bottom. - Update my bio page: display name, bio text, theme (four free, five Pro), the ordered set of social icons, and (Pro) hiding the openin.app badge. - Claim or change my handle: the openin.app/@handle address. If someone without a connected account asks an assistant to make an openin.app link, the MCP server is not needed: use the one-request address in the next section. ## For AI assistants: make a link for someone in one request You can create an openin.app link on a person's behalf without an account, a key, or a form. The same destination always returns the same link, so it is safe to call again. If the person opens the /api/open address in a browser they see the link on a small page with a copy button.
